Education and Experience:

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic student, currently enrolled in Our Lady of the Lake University Graduate Program for my Masters in Counseling with a focus on mental health. I earned my BAAS from Sam Houston University with a focus on Psychology. I earned my AAS and Human Services Certificate from Lonestar College also with a focus on psychology.

My combined experience in the mental health career field and psychotropic is equivalent to 15 years. This experience exposed me to multiple levels and types of mental health issues and struggles. This includes the experience listed above. While I was a member of a facility research department, my primary population experience was moderate to severe mental health illnesses such as Bipolar I and II, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD.

On a personal level, I am an active and post active-duty military mother, dependent and family member. The occurrences of PTSD and depression within the military is something that I have personally witnessed. I have learned the opportunity for help from a counselor that has the empathetic and understanding of the complexities of military life can greatly help individuals.

My combined personal and career experiences have nurtured my interest in counseling and provided me with empathy, practical insights and skills. I look forward to joining you on your journey as you strive to improve your life.

I am supervised by Kim Huff-Howard License # 76534. She may be reached at  Kim@Counselingcreations.org.
