Somare Peyton, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Family studies from Lubbock Christian University in 2015. I graduated with my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in 2020. I use a client centered approach to helping my clients process and heal from their past traumas and life experiences.
I believe that each of us are capable of change and can grow and excel through life with community and with someone walking alongside us. I have experience in several counseling areas such as grief, anxiety, depression, suicidal
ideation, trauma/PTSD, bi-polar, DID, stress management, and boundaries. I have also worked with
numerous military personnel as well as their families. I have a passion in working with our military and their families. I grew up moving and transitioning throughout several countries and cultures, due to growing up in a transient lifestyle of being a missionary kid.
I have over a decade of experience working with people who have grown up and lived the transient life style such as military kids, and missionary kids [Third Culture Kids (TCK’s)]. I take an eclectic, as well as integrative approach to counseling, which takes into account the psychological, biological, social, and spiritual dimensions of a client. In terms of
training, education and experience, my professional leanings incorporate aspects of person-centered,
dialectical behavioral, and cognitive processing therapies. During an initial intake meeting, we can together decide the best approach for you that meets your needs and goals. I am available by teletherapy only.
