My name is Huong (Angela) Nguyen and I am currently a counseling practicum student working toward my licensure as a professional Marriage, Couples & Family Therapist at Lamar University.

Prior to attending the Master’s program in Counseling, I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Houston, and an MBA degree in Human Resources Management from University of North Texas.  I previously worked as a Human Resources Manager for various organizations, profit and non-profit, for twenty-eight years.  While managing many different HR functions and duties, I developed and conducted many Life-Skills Development & Career Counseling Workshops.   

In addition, I have been teaching Bible Study for adolescents and adults for more than twenty-five years.  In the last five years, I also teach the Marriage Preparation Program and serve as a certified Marriage Facilitator at one of the four biggest American Vietnamese Catholic Churches in Houston, TX.

Under the supervision of Kim Huff-Howard (license #76534), I provide counseling

services to individuals, couples and family dealing with life/family issues, stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. My goal is always to provide a collaborative, safe, and compassionate environment where clients can be who they are, so they can share what/how they want to receive help to work toward healing and growth.
