RENEE SALINAS, MA, LPC

Welcome! My name is Renee. I am a woman, a daughter, a sister, a mother, a friend, and a wife, but most of all, I am just like you! I have faced challenges, burdens, and blessings. It is out of my own family dynamic that I sought education in the field of family, individual, and group therapy to understand our “normal.”

My passion grew to help others from my own journey. In particular, families raising children with special needs. 
I received my BS in Psychology from the U of H where I was able to study the classical theorists. However, I took particular interest in Bowen and his Family Systems Theory.  I sought my masters in both individual and Marriage and Family from the Houston Graduate School of Theology. Here, I grew both spiritually and academically as I was introduced to new types of play therapy, and research regarding family systems. My training includes that of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cultural Sensitive and Mindfulness-Bases Therapy. My experience includes working with individuals, couples, and families raising children with disability, as well as siblings and children with a diagnosis. I also have experience and success in leading group therapy settings with young children, teens, adults, seniors and veterans.

I believe in creating a safe and trusted place that you or your family need to begin healing. You are never alone. We all have stories that make up our lives.

Renee is in office one day a week for face to face sessions.  All other sessions are telehealth.
